Tammara Thibeault Becomes Unified Middleweight Champion

In the co-main event from the Caribe Royale in Orlando on Saturday night, Desley Robinson put her titles on the line versus Tammara Thibeault, who rose to the occasion and capitalized on the opportunity to become a unified middleweight world champion.

Heading into the clash, Canada’s Thibeault was riding the momentum of a four-fight streak, which started with her professional debut in 2024. But similarly, Robinson, a much more seasoned fighter, was carrying a seven-fight victory run, with multiple title wins and defenses in that time.

Right from the beginning of the match, there was no timidity between this pair in the ring. Near the end of the first round, Thibeault started to unload with heavy shots, applying serious pressure to the champion. But Robinson held her own and even sent some return shots her opponent’s way before the bell rang to end the opening stanza.

The action that continued from there seemed to have its pace set by the way the fight started, highlighted by a straight left from Thibeault that staggered Robinson momentarily, but the veteran continued to stay focused and defend intelligently.

But the relentless pressure of Thibeault was almost too much for Robinson to handle at several points throughout the course of the ten-round affair, which ultimately led to the Canadian’s victory by unanimous decision.
