Tank Davis’ Team Responds To Loma Fight Rumors

Gervonta Davis’ (30-0-1, 28 KOs) coaching team has cast doubt on whether Vasiliy Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) will follow through on his plan to target ‘Tank’ for his comeback.

Lomachenko, who retired in June 2025 before announcing his return, has been linked to a fight with Davis at 135 pounds, reportedly with unified super-featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete being his first fight back. Tank was previously in negotiations with Loma, before the Ukrainian walked away from the sport, but Ellis was still sceptical.

“Tank will be the last one he picks. He is the most dangerous one. He is going to go with less punishment,” Ellis

Ellis acknowledged the financial pull of the matchup but questioned Lomachenko’s true motivation: “That is the biggest payday. It wouldn’t surprise me — but does he really want the fight, or does he want it for the money?”
