The newly retired Miesha Tate is just not feeling it anymore in MMA. She is now able to compete in her favorite aspect of mma, grappling and ju-jitsu. It seems like a natural progression for her to now compete in the grappling tournaments. This would not have been possible a couple of years ago, but now with Eddie Bravo Invitational, Polaris and many others, there are a lot of venues more than willing to accept UFC and former UFC fighters on to the mat in front of a knowledgeable crowd.
In a post fight interview, after defeating Jessica Eye at Submission Underground 2 she expressed her love of grappling and possible future opponent.
"I would love to compete against Mackenzie [Dern], I know that she’s credentialed as one of the best," Tate said. "So, I’d like to test myself. Jessica [Eye] is obviously I tough opponent, she’s a test in herself, but I’d really like to venture into the grappling world more."
