Taylor-Serrano Rematch On The Horizon; Could Happen At The Sphere

Katie Taylor’s next fight will likely be a rematch against Amanda Serrano at The Sphere in Las Vegas, the first ever for a boxing match.

That is according to Eddie Hearn. Taylor won their first bout at Madison Square Garden, New York, in 2022 in a split decision. The fight set records with a crowd of 19,187, while viewing figures reached 1.5 million on DAZN. It became the most-watched female boxing fight ever. Reports indicate their rematch could occur in June, with an announcement forthcoming this week.

“There is a good chance she could fight Serrano next. Absolutely, the Serrano rematch is an option for the next fight. It would be a huge fight,” Hearn said

Both fighters have had contrasting fortunes recently. Taylor avenged her loss to Chantelle Cameron, beating the Brit via a majority decision in a 140-pound clash. The win made Taylor a two-weight undisputed champion. The Serrano fight also means a Taylor-Cameron trilogy is off for now.

Serrano pulled out of her last fight against Nina Meinke in March at the last minute with an eye injury. It was a massive blow since Serrano was fighting in front of her home crowd in Puerto Rico. Based on their first fight, a Taylor-Serrano rematch has gotten boxing fans ready for another enthralling encounter.
