Team Haney Wants Shakur Next

Bill Haney has told Keyshawn Davis (15-0, 10 KOs) that Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) remains ahead of him in the queue to face Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs), revealing Team Haney wants both fights packaged together.

“It’s a package deal. We want you both. You guys got to get together. You got to sign the agreement together. Then we’re going back to back with you gentlemen. I told you I’m going to give you a good one because you was lower on the list. It was Shakur. It’s called a double up. Two for one on one agreement. We get both of y’all. “If Shakur don’t want to do it, you’re still going to get it,” Bill

The timing of the comments come just as Haney was linked with a potential mandatory defence against Davis, who was recently elevated to No. 1 in the WBO welterweight rankings. The main problem with a Haney-Stevenson fight is the weight.

Haney has previously ruled out a catchweight and a rehydration clause, while Shakur has previously said he will not fight at 147 unless there is a rehydration clause. However, Haney has talked up the Shakur fight by sharing an old video clip of Stevenson, captioning it with the message: “Debo coming..”
