Teofimo Lopez Calls Out Terence Crawford After Criticizing His Boxing Resume

Teofimo Lopez wants Terence Crawford at welterweight.

The comments came after Lopez criticized Crawford’s boxing resume despite becoming the first undisputed welterweight champion of the four-belt era, with a win over Errol Spence Jr. Lopez questioned Bud’s wins over Kell Brook, Jose Benavidez Jr. and Spence, claiming they were not at their peak when they faced him.

“I’m not here to play games; I want to fight the best. The fighters Crawford fought were handicapped. Spence just announced about his eye, Jose Benavidez had a shot leg, and Kell Brook was injured too with his eye. Every fighter Crawford has faced at 147lbs has been injured. I’m healthy. Fight the best fighter at a healthier weight; let’s do it,” Teofimo Lopez said

Lopez’s resume stacks well with wins over Vasiliy Lomachenko, Josh Taylor and Richard Commey. He is on course to face Jamaine Ortiz during Super Bowl week on February 8, 2024. Should he win, Lopez has possible unifications against Devin Haney or Subriel Matias if the Crawford fight fails. Since then, Crawford has reacted to Lopez’s comments by urging him to focus on the tough competition at 140.

“Teofimo Lopez, you better worry about them little guys that are on your backside down there in your weight class. It’s crazy every time I see you, you don’t even look my way, but when you’re in front of a camera, you got so much to say,” Crawford said

“Time will tell! You must also focus on getting yourself out of that trapped contract you’re in with Errol Spence Jr & Al Haymon. See you at the Top, brother,” Lopez replied
