Teofimo Lopez Mocks Crawford’s Fighting Style – ‘Fights Ugly’

Teofimo Lopez has once again talked down on Terence Crawford as he targets a fight with the former Undisputed Welterweight Champion.

Lopez called out Crawford before his fight with Jamaine Ortiz, criticizing his resume for winning against depleted fighters. Bud responded by urging Lopez to focus on his own weight class as he nearly came unstuck against Ortiz. The Takeover won a unanimous decision, but the boxing community were divided, some feeling Ortiz outboxed Lopez even if the champion pressed the action. Crawford reacted to Lopez’s performance, claiming he had lost, as a fight appears unlikely. But Lopez has once again singled out Crawford by downplaying his skills.

“Crawford is a human, just like me. We bleed the same. He’s just uglier. That motherf— is ugly. Ugly, f— ugly. I don’t know how this man gets…he’s ugly. S**t. He even fights ugly. I’ll be real with y’all,” Lopez revealed

Crawford’s main aim is to secure a fight with Canelo Alvarez. The Mexican announced his next fight would be against an American, increasing speculation it is Crawford. The other fighter in the running, Jermall Charlo, backtracked on his comments after initially saying he was fighting Canelo.

Since Bud is already sparring super middleweights, that fight could happen. That would leave Lopez with fights at 140 against Devin Haney, Rolando Romero and Subriel Matias in a unification or a lucrative fight with Ryan Garcia. Those seem more likely at the moment.
