Terence Crawford Calls Out Eroll Spence With Hopes The Fight Can Be Made-‘I’m Ready When You Wanna’
The WBO welterweight champion took to Twitter to call for the beginning of talks to decide who is the best in the division. Following the breakdown of negotiations in October, Crawford claimed that Al Haymon caused the negotiations to fall through.
In a detailed Instagram Live session, Crawford explained that Haymon’s refusal to provide any “transparency” regarding funds was what ended the talks.
Afterwards, Crawford reached an agreement with BLK Prime, a subscription streaming service, offering him a $10 million purse to fight David Avanesyan.
He eventually beat him by technical knockout in the sixth round of their fight held at the CHI Health Center in Omaha. But with both fighters hungrier than ever, fans could finally see this mouth-watering clash.
In his comments, Spence indicated his desire to make it happen: “It’s cool I’m spin the block,” to which Crawford replied: “@ErrolSpenceJr I’m ready when you wanna [spin] the block. Just giving you a heads up is all. [winking emoji]”
It is not likely that discussions will begin in the near future as Spence is expected to take on Keith Thurman next. In addition, his next fight has been put off due to recent injuries received in a car incident.
However, these are not as severe as the ones he incurred in his 2019 crash. He has himself stated that he expects to be back in the ring between April and June.
But when asked about the Crawford fight, Spence did not rule it out: “Next year, anything can happen. I don’t know man, I’m not going to worry about it too much. If it happens, it happens.
“If it don’t, it don’t … We’ll see man, we’ll see. The great thing is that I got helluh options. I never say I aint fight nobody. Sh!t — I’ll fight whoever.”
So will the fans finally get what they want?
