Terence Crawford May Leave Top Rank After Fight Vs. Shawn Porter

Terence Crawford’s contract with Top Rank is up after his fight with Shawn Porter.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said earlier in October that he believes Crawford will resign with the promotion, but longtime boxing trainer Teddy Atlas says otherwise.

“My sources tell me… [Crawford] is leaving Top Rank,” Atlas said in his YouTube video posted Tuesday.

Atlas further explained that there will be a lawsuit against Top Rank because the promoter hasn’t fulfilled its contract obligations to Crawford.

In 2018, the current WBO welterweight champion signed an extension with Top Rank in 2018 and was previously expected to end in October of this year.

There were previous speculations that Crawford would move on to sign with PBC in an attempt to secure fighters with Errol Spence Jr., and previously, Manny Pacquiao.
