Terence Crawford has a scathing response to Errol Spence Jr.
The general consensus is that the fight to make in the welterweight division is Crawford vs. Spence. Crawford holds the WBO gold and is at the top of the pound-for-pound list for many fans and media members. Spence is the WBC and IBF Champion. The holdup comes down to a purse split.
Spence has demanded a higher split than Crawford if the fight is expected to take place. He even went as far as to say he wants a 70/30 split. Spence fights under PBC, while Crawford competes for Top Rank Boxing.
During an interview with BoxingScene.com, “Bud” made it clear that he isn’t desperate to fight Spence and he had a fiery response.
“Hell, no. I’m in a good place in my life right now. I’m having fun with chilling out, having kids and enjoying my kids. I don’t worry about things I can’t control. I mean, like everybody always got an opinion and I just a laugh at a lot of people’s opinions that said I haven’t fought anybody.
“I just laugh like this guy, he’s on his high horse. Maybe that wreck knocked a couple of screws loose.”
Spence is fresh off a successful title defense against Danny Garcia. Spence won the fight via unanimous decision. It was his first bout after his 2019 Ferrari crash.
As for Crawford, his most recent outing took place back in November. He had a successful WBO Title defense. Crawford stopped Kell Brook in the fourth round via TKO.
