Porter has been in the pros for 13 years. He previously scored victory over then-undefeated Devon Alexander for the IBF welterweight title. In his first title defense, he knocked out two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi.
The 35-year-old once donned the WBC world welterweight title after going the distance with Yordenis Ugas, but dropped the two titles in a split decision loss to Errol Spence Jr.
