TGB Promotions Secures The IBF 140-Pound Purse Bid For Matias Vs. Ergashev

The IBF junior welterweight bout between Subriel Matias and Shohjahon Ergashev will go ahead following the conclusion of the purse bids.

The fight had first been ordered on June 28th, 2023. However, the two camps were unable to agree on terms as a purse bid was held.

TGB Promotions won the rights to host the fight with a $510,000 bid at the purse bid hearing on August 23rd, 2023, on behalf of PBC.

Meanwhile, Salita Promotions lost out, despite Ergashev’s promoter pledging $225,000. As a result, the fight must take place in the next 90 days.

The terms of the purse bid meant that the champion, Matias, will secure 70 percent of the purse while the challenger, Ergashev, would take home 30 percent.

Matias secured the vacant title after stopping Jeremias Ponce in the fifth round. The victory was Matias’ fourth in a row, as the 31-year-old became one of the key figures in the division.

In contrast, Ergashev is unbeaten with 23 wins as he is one step away from securing his first-ever world title.
