The terms of the purse bid meant that the champion, Matias, will secure 70 percent of the purse while the challenger, Ergashev, would take home 30 percent.
Matias secured the vacant title after stopping Jeremias Ponce in the fifth round. The victory was Matias’ fourth in a row, as the 31-year-old became one of the key figures in the division.
In contrast, Ergashev is unbeaten with 23 wins as he is one step away from securing his first-ever world title.
