The Most Notable Conclusions From UFC On ABC 4

The UFC on ABC. 4 threw up many talking points with some impressive but bizarre ends to the bouts. With that being said, let us take a look at the most notable talking points.

Talking Points

1- The bantamweight division bout between Mandy Bohm and Ji Yeon Kim drew mass attention after multiple fouls were committed, including one that caused the fight to end.

During the fight, Kim delivered an illegal knee to Bohm’s head in the third round, which resulted in the fight being stopped via a technical decision.

However, the scorecards were computerized, causing a delay in announcing the result, which complicated matters.

2- Matt Brown knocked out Court McGee in the first round of their welterweight fight, thereby tying with Derrick Lewis‘ record for the most knockouts in the UFC ever.

And the fact that he managed to do it at the age of 42 was even sweeter given his impressive record: (24-19 MMA, 17-13 UFC).

3 – Ian Machado Garry’s first-round TKO victory over Daniel Rodriguez showed his UFC title aspirations. Garry nailed his opponent with a head kick and became one of the few fighters to stop him.

4 – Anthony Smith didn’t perform his best during his fight against Johnny Walker. Smith’s performance in the light heavyweight co-main event was lackluster.

However, it is uncertain whether his previous leg injury from the fight against Magomed Ankalaev impacted his performance.

5- Jailton Almeida’s reputation as a rising heavyweight title contender only got stronger after his dominant victory over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event.

Almeida secured a victory by utilizing a rear-naked choke, thus laying down the marker that he could be a UFC champion in the very near future.
