The Only Fight Chimaev Wants

Khamzat Chimaev (15-1) has reversed course on his plans to move up to light heavyweight, and now will only accept a fight if it’s a rematch vs Sean Strickland (31-7), who defeated him on May 9 to take his UFC middleweight title in Khamzat’s first defense of the 185-poud belt.

Following Chimaev’s first defeat of his career, his team stated there are no other goals for him right now other than a second fight with Strickland, adding that they have already requested the rematch, and are hoping to secure it for October. Abu Dhabi has become a regular destination for the UFC in October, however the promotion has yet to confirm any locations for the fall.
