This Is How Israel Adesanya Plans To Fight Robert Whittaker ‘Psychologically’

Robert Whittaker rarely watches tape of his past fights, but Israel Adesanya is planning to give him some déjà vu.

Adesanya takes Whittaker on for the second time at UFC 271 this Saturday. Across the octagon, Whittaker will see Adesanya brought back his hi-top fade.

“Maybe it’s just a psychological thing. He doesn’t want to see that be replayed in his head over and over again. But I mean, there’s a reason I brought my hi-top fade back. I have to remind him. I had the Little Caesar for a while for the Costa fight and the Vettori fight. But I brought the hi-top fade back just to remind him. So when he steps across the cage from me, déjà vu,” Adesanya said at UFC 271 media day.

Adesanya originally ended Whittaker’s nine-fight winning streak by technical knockout in the second round.

Adesanya has been on top of the middleweight division for a while and has grown as a bigger star in the UFC.

Since losing the belt to Adesanya, he has been undefeated.

The two will hit it off once again in the main event, whose main card kicks off at 10 p.m. ET.
