Three Fighters Pulled From PFL 2 By NYSAC

The PFL’s second event of the 2019 season returns on Thursday night, but not without a massive reshuffle of the card at Nassau Coliseum.

Three fighters, all Brazilian were pulled from the card, with one being taken to the hospital.

Alexandre Bezerra would walk into Wednesday’s weigh-in at 155 pounds, nine pounds over the featherweight limit, where he was set to fight Jeremy Kennedy.

Bezerra ended up passing out in a hospital while trying to cut a remaining seven pounds, but his coach would take him to an area hospital.

Luis Rafael Laurentino will now face Kennedy at 146 pounds, as his opponent Alexandre Almeida would get on the scale at 147 pounds.

The final fighter, Ronys Torres, was yanked due to undisclosed reasons by the New York State Athletic Commission, not being medically cleared to compete.

His opponent Ramsey Nijem will be awarded three points in the PFL’s ranking system according to MMA Fighting.

The main event featuring Lance Palmer and Alex Gilpin is still on, as both fighters would come in below  the 146 pound limit set by the organization.
