Throwback: Lomachenko’s Dominant Win Over Crolla

With a reputation like Vasiliy Lomachenko, you are bound to get some fights that result in quick finishes. A man with ten wins via knockout, “Loma” has secured his spot as one of the top lightweights today.

Top Rank has opened the vault to share one of the most devastating knockouts of his career. Facing Anthony Crolla in April 2019, the WBA, WBO, and The Ring Lightweight Champion dominated all aspects of the fight. Lomachenko (14-1) controlled the pace, not giving Crolla an advantage. At the end of round two, Lomachenko hit a strong right to the body and wouldn’t stop. Round three saw what appeared to be a knockdown but Jack Reiss wasn’t able to explain it well.

Lomachenko celebrated, but he was told to continue with the fight. After confusion, the bout continued, and Lomachenko dropped Crolla with a right hook to the temple that dropped him. It was all over after that.

According to CompuBox, Lomachenko landed 72-of-249 shots, with Crolla only landing 12-of-96. You can check out the full fight in the above video.
