Thurman Return Among Major Fights On FOX in 2019
FOX and Premier Boxing Champions unveiled their 2019 slate, as the two brands begin a multi-year partnership in December.
Following the return of the Charlo brothers on the network in December, PBC has rolled out some of their biggest fighters for the network, including the return of Keith Thurman as he defends his WBA welterweight title on January 26th against Josesito Lopez at Barclays Center.
“We’re thrilled to have Premier Boxing Champions’ brightest stars coming to FOX Sports reaching the biggest audiences on broadcast television,” says Mark Silverman, FOX Sports President, National Networks. “The 2019 PBC schedule kicks off with high-stakes action and excitement, making FOX the premier home for boxing and the continued leader in live sporting events.”
Calling the action for FOX will be Kenny Albert and Chris Myers, joined by former world champions Lennox Lewis and Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, with Kate Abdo as a studio and fight night host and Larry Hazzard as a Rules Expert/Unofficial Scorer.
Also, on the slate for their network broadcasts include Leo Santa Cruz defending the WBA featherweight title against Miguel Flores on February 16th, Shawn Porter’s first WBC welterweight title defense on March 9th against Yordenis Ugas, and Danny Garcia’s return on April 20th against Adrian Granados.
