Former two-division world champion Tim Bradley says Terence Crawford is a “tougher” fight for Canelo Alvarez than David Benavidez.
Canelo defends his Undisputed Super Middleweight belt against Crawford on September 13. He is the favorite as the seasoned 168-pounder is facing someone who is moving up two weight classes, as well as not having boxed at the weight class before. However, Bradley argues a loss to the smaller fighter would be far more damaging to Canelo’s legacy than losing to Benavidez since The Mexican Monster is a bigger fighter. Crawford’s size, advanced age, and his less-than-stellar performance in his last fight against Israil Madrimov puts the onus on Canelo to get the win.
“I believe this fight is tougher on his career than Benavidez. Although Crawford is considered the best fighters in the world and has gained a lot of accolades over the years, if he loses to a dude that came up two weight classes and beat him, how is that going to look?” Bradley said
