Tim Tszyu Addresses Potential Errol Spence Fight

Tim Tszyu (26-3, 18 KOs) confirmed that discussions with the Errol Spence camp have taken place, but admitted there is currently no formal timeline or signed agreement.

Before any fight can materialize, Tszyu must first navigate a tune-up against undefeated Denis Nurja on April 5. The fight is being contested at a 157-lb catchweight, signaling Tszyu’s move toward the middleweight division while keeping his options open for a 154-lb return for a Spence fight.

Tszyu secured a win over Anthony Velasquez in December 2025, it was only his second victory in his last five outings—a stretch that included two TKO defeats to Sebastian Fundora and a third-round stoppage loss against Bakhram Murtazaliev.

Spence hasn’t stepped into a ring since his ninth-round TKO loss to Terence Crawford in July 2023. Since the Crawford defeat, Spence has undergone cataract surgery on his right eye and split from his long-time trainer Derrick James. At 36, Spence is entering his third year of inactivity. While he has not officially retired, there are questions over whether Spence will return.

“Yeah, possibly. Possibly. The boys are working on it. Of course, logistically it’s a big fight to make. It takes a bit of time to plan and work a lot of things out, as a lot of parties are involved. But yeah, possibly,” Tszyu said
