Timothy Bradley Jr, Carl Froch To Be Inducted In Boxing Hall Of Fame

The induction will happen in June.

Timothy Bradley Jr is being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Bradley is headlining the International Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2023, who will get inducted in the summer on June 11 in New York.

“This is one of the greatest days of my life,” Bradley said.

” … This is everything I wanted and everything I worked for. I’m full of emotions and there are so many things going through my mind from my past that got me to this point. This is a dream come true. This is my heaven, the International Boxing Hall of Fame.”

Another top name joining the class is Carl Froch, who is known for one of the sport’s biggest rivalries with Israel Vazquez.

Bradley and Froch will be inducted as modern-era men candidates. In the women’s modern category will be Alicia Ashley and Laura Serrano.

Bradley, of California, won his first title in 2008 against Junior Witter in England.

He later unified the junior welterweight belts by overcoming Kendall Holt and later, in 2011, earned a stoppage against Devon Alexander to again grab the unified WBC and WBO straps.

One of the biggest names on his resume is former rival Manny Pacquiao. In 2012, he upset the Pacman with a split decision win for the WBO world welterweight title.

They met two more times where Pacquiao got his revenge, beating Bradley with a unanimous decision win in 2014 and then again in 2016 by unanimous decision, capping off the end of Bradley’s career.

Brady was trained by Teddy Atlas for his last three fights and joins him in the Hall of Fame.

For Froch, he won his first title after an exhilarating fight against Jean Pascal in 2008. He later retained the belt with a 12th-round TKO of Jermain Taylor.

He lost the title against Mikkel Kessler, but avenged the loss later. He continued the winning streak by adding wins against Arthur Abraham, Lucian Bute and George Groves.

He lost to Andre Ward in the finals of the World Boxing Classic.

Froch now works as a boxing analyst for Sky Sports while Bradley works for ESPN.

“Boxing is the best sport in the world,” Froch said.

“It tests everything in a man and a woman. The mentality, discipline, grit, determination, heart, desire, everything is all in that ring and it is just you on your own with your opponent.”
