Tito: I Can Beat Jones, Cormier: LMAO
Earlier this week, Tito Ortiz appeared on a podcast to discuss things such as potentially killing Chuck Liddell if they fought for the fourth time, his upcoming catchweight fight against Alberto Del Rio, and whether or not he could beat Jon Jones.
Ortiz, not short on braggadocio, would claim he would most certainly beat Jones, breaking down the exact ways he’d stop the lanky UFC light heavyweight champion.
All under the conceit that Ortiz would have an 18-week camp, the same he needed to fight a nearly 50-year-old Chuck Liddell last November.
“If I had a camp like I did my last one of 18 weeks, 100%,” Ortiz said on the Domenick Nati podcsat. “There hasn’t been anyone to fight Jon Jones and get into his face and stay in his face…. You need to get the inside of him… that’s the way to beat him.”
Ortiz was asked the same question of current UFC heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, who Ortiz explained he cannot beat, due to Cormier’s style and build.
Cormier caught wind of this story and had a brief yet emphatic statement.
No! Lmao https://t.co/rdQVX0T8jM
