Tito Ortiz: I’m Competing One Last Time Against Chael Sonnen
Tito Ortiz says he’s returning to the octagon.
And his opponent will reportedly be Chael Sonnen.
“I’ll be competing one last time in the beginning of February,” Ortiz said on a recent appearance on “The Adam Carolla Show.”
“Tito Ortiz vs Chael Sonnen number two will be happening for Freedom Fight Night. I’m excited. It’ll be in mixed martial arts, not boxing, and at 205lbs.”
A formal announcement regarding the fight has yet to be officially announced by Freedom Fight Night.
Ortiz and Sonnen held their first fight at Bellator 170 in January 2017. Weeks leading up to the battle got personal and heated. Even their significant others were brought into the trash talk.
Ortiz, who is arguably one of the greatest UFC light heavyweights, submitted Sonnen in the first round.
Ortiz has teased an MMA comeback in the past few years, seemingly to attempt to lure Sonnen back in, but it never came into fruition then.
Sonnen retired after he lost to Lyoto Machida at Bellator 222 in 2019.
Ortiz also held his last fight in 2019 – outside of Bellator.
