Kenzie Morrison, heavyweight boxer and son of the late WBO champion Tommy Morrison, has revealed that doctors discovered he has stomach cancer during a CAT scan this week.
Kenzie followed in his father’s footsteps by getting into professional boxing. After watching his dad achieve world title status and even star in Rocky V back in 1990, Kenzie went on a significant run at heavyweight as well, securing 22 wins in 25 matches between 2014 and 2024. He most recently competed on a BKFC card in June 2025 when he stopped Alex Davis in the first round. Unfortunately, his father did not get the opportunity to see the success his son found in the sport, as Tommy Morrison passed away in September 2013 in an Omaha, Nebraska hospital at 44.
Now, Kenzie has a new fight ahead of him, but even though the information surrounding his diagnosis so far is minimal, he is making a plan and eyeing specialists in either Chicago or Texas. A GoFundMe page has been launched to assist Morrison’s family in dealing with the extreme medical expenses.
“I’ve been kind of in and out of the hospital with some stomach issues and back problem for about a month,” Morrison explained in a Facebook video update.
“Yesterday I went to go have a CAT scan done, and they came back and told me that I have stomach cancer.”
“I have recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer, and I now start the biggest battle of my life, and I’m gonna need your help,” Morrison wrote on the page.
“We are working on transferring to a specialist program in Texas or Chicago.
“Your help will mean the world to me and my family.”
