Tony Ferguson is now the most recent fighter to comment on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s remarks surrounding Dagestan being above all in the world of MMA.
In Khabib’s latest post to X on the subject, he outlined his view of the current MMA landscape. With his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov ready to square off with Ireland’s Paul Hughes later this month at Bellator Champions Series in Dubai, the former UFC lightweight champion explained that overall him home country is much more skilled than Ireland. He followed this statement by even going as far to say that Dagestan is the best in the world when it comes to MMA.
In response to these comments, Khabib has been getting a reaction out several fighters, and now Ferguson has even said his piece.

Ferguson and Khabib were set to meet in the UFC octagon on multiple occasions, but unfortunately the fight never came to fruition due to several reasons. While the bout never wound up happening, the hype was very real, with a storied build up of verbal jousting. Now, every so often the fire between the pair reignites, and the MMA community is reminded of the match that could have been.
