Tony Ferguson: My Approach Has Changed Ahead Of UFC 262

Tony Ferguson says he has made some significant changes ahead of his next fight.

On May 15, Ferguson will go one-on-one with Beneil Dariush. The bout will be featured on the UFC 262 card. Ferguson is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Charles Oliveira.

During an appearance on Submission Radio, Ferguson said that he has gone back to the drawing board and has eliminated all distractions going into UFC 262 (h/t MMAJunkie.com).

“Last year, it had nothing to do with coaches or anything else. Seriously, I take all the fall and all my blame on it, but the two losses that I had, I’m gonna be real with you guys: It was the best learning experience I probably could’ve ever had and the best thing that was for me and my family.

“Chasing after a guy like Khabib and then trying to get the fight and then not getting the fight and then having interim belts dangled in front of you, the game is what it is. You can’t get mad at the game. But how you play the game is exactly your approach. And that’s what I did for this year. I completely changed my approach.”

UFC 262 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler. The card will also feature a bout between Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz.
