Tony Ferguson suggested that he could make a move from MMA to baseball.
Ferguson, who once held the UFC interim lightweight title and went on a 12-fight win streak, struggled in the latter part of his UFC career, losing eight consecutive fights. His last UFC outing was a loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC Abu Dhabi in August 2024, but Ferguson has not officially retired from MMA.
Ferguson was set to debut in the Global Fight League, but his participation fell through when the promotion failed to deliver the event. Meanwhile, Ferguson is set to make his boxing debut against Salt Papi on August 30 at Misfits Boxing 22. A lesser-known fact about Ferguson is his background in baseball, where he was pretty solid in his younger years as he played through high school. Ferguson hated that he may seek to play pro ball, so he could demonstrate his talent in another sport.
