Top Middleweight Signs An Extension With Queensberry Promotions
A surging fighter within boxing’s middleweight is staying with Queensberry Promotions. Could the promotion end up bringing more gold to its stable?
Liam Williams has signed a multi-fight extension with Queensberry and MTK Global. The 28-year-old from Wales is looking to become a middleweight champion. He is considered a mandatory challenger for WBO Middleweight Champion Demetrius Andrade.
“I am delighted Liam has committed to us for the long-term and I am convinced we will soon have a world middleweight champion on our books,” Frank Warren stated. “We have provided the opportunities for him since he moved up to 160lbs and he has taken them and furthered his career in a way few would have imagined. He has taken the division by storm.”

Making his professional debut in 2011 following an amateur record with over 40 wins, Williams (22-2-1) did not lose a bout until 2017, when he lost to Liam Smith twice. The first time, for the interim WBO Super-Welterweight Title, ended a 16-0-1 run. After the second loss, Williams won his last six, all via some sort of knockout.
Williams’ last fight was a TKO-win against Alantez Fox in December. “The Machine” has over 17 wins via knockout and is waiting for his chance at Andrade (29-0), a man with 18 wins via KO.
“I am happy to have mapped out my future and my entire focus is on getting my world title shot and winning it,” Williams stated. “I am so looking forward to the fight being made and becoming world champion. That is all that matters to me right now.”
While terms of the deal are unknown, Williams will look to increase his value with a world title win.
