Top Rank Reveals Schedule For Crawford-Porter And Other Super Fights
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has pulled the curtain of the fights his organization has been working on. Most of these super fights include big names of the industry.
According to Arum, WBO light heavyweight champion Joe Smith Jr. will lock horns against mandatory challenger Umar Salamov. The fight has been scheduled for October 23 at either Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, or Nassau Coliseum.
Top Rank is considering finalizing a two-fight deal between both, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Another super-fight includes WBO super featherweight champion Jamel Herring’s mandatory title defense against Shakur Stevenson.
They will face off on November 13th. In his last fight, Herring was last seen sending Carl Frampton into retirement in his third title defense. The champ got the knockout in the third round to stop Frampton for the first time in his career. As for Stevenson, he last came up with a sublime glove work against #2-ranked Jeremiah Nakathila.
Unified super lightweight champion Josh Taylor will meet Jack Catterall in the ring in November in Scotland.
Moreover, Terence Crawford and Shawn Porter are finally going to trade haymakers in November as well.
Bob Arum wants to see Edgar Berlanga fight in December if he makes it out of the Wilder vs Fury III undercard unscathed.
