Top Rank Signs Olympic Boxing Medalists Keyshawn Davis, Richard Torrez Jr
U.S. Olympic silver medalists, Keyshawn Davis and Richard Torrez Jr, have signed long-term contracts with Top Rank, Bob Arum announced.
Keyshawn’s older brother Kelvin Davis has been roped in by the promotion as well.
The Davis brothers will make their pro debuts together on the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Richard Commey card. The event will be held at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, December 11.
“Top Rank is proud to promote an outstanding group of fighters who also comport themselves with dignity outside the ring,” Arum said.
“Richard Torrez Jr. is a southpaw pressure fighter who will instantly become a heavyweight fan favorite. I can’t wait to see the Davis Brothers, both of whom have valuable experience as pros and will shine on December 11.”
Keyshawn will feature in a six-rounder on ESPN & ESPN Deportes at 9 pm ET.
Torrez will make his mark in the first quarter of 2022. A specific date for him hasn’t yet been confirmed.
The other three male Olympians of Team USA – Featherweight silver medalist Duke Ragan (4-0, 1 KO), middleweight Troy Isley (3-0, 2 KOs), and welterweight Tiger Johnson – have already been signed by Top Rank.
Johnson has been scheduled for Saturday where he will debut on the Terence Crawford-Shawn Porter undercard.
