A UFC middleweight ranked in the top ten says he’d be more than willing to fight Jake Paul free of charge.
Paul has been making waves in the world of combat sports for better or worse. The YouTube star is 2-0 as a pro boxer with wins over fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson. He’s set to share the ring with former Bellator and ONE Championship titleholder Ben Askren on April 17 in a boxing match.
Marvin Vettori is the number six-ranked UFC middleweight. He’s scheduled to collide with Kevin Holland this Saturday night, April 10. Vettori told MMAFighting.com that he’d welcome Paul to his gym if he wants to know what real fighting is about.
“Just tell him, somebody go get him and I want to make it a surprise. I want to show you something. Just bring him to Huntington. Once he steps in that door, we just lock the door. Trust me, we wouldn’t be unfair. It’s not like we would jump him or something but it’s just like you want to experiencing fighting? Good. Get into the cage and I’ll be glad to welcome him.
“I can send some 145’er that would smash him. It’s all right. It’s the world we live in these days. You can’t do much about it. You just stay in your own lane and do your own sh*t. That’s it really.”
He went on to say that he’d even fight Paul without monetary gain.
“I’m all about it. Like I said, I’ll basically do it for free. I would.”
