Topuria Aims To Be One Of The World’s Best-Paid Athletes

Ilia Topuria, the UFC Featherweight Champion, plans to become one of the highest-paid athletes in the world by next year.

Topuria’s stock has risen massively since knocking out Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 to become the featherweight champion. The defeat ended Volk’s four-year reign as champion and gave him his first stoppage loss at the weight class. Since his win, Topuria’s crossover appeal has increased massively.

The UFC fighter was invited to Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium to meet some of the world’s biggest soccer stars. He also had the opportunity to meet soccer legend Lionel Messi. With his popularity increasing, Topuria wants to turn that into financial again. He has spoken about a Volkanovski rematch, a bout with Conor McGregor and the BMF Champion Max Holloway. Those bouts would generate big purses, with suggestions the UFC could go to Spain for the first time. That is all to become financially well off.

“Look, I can tell you that I have no doubt that in 2025, I will be the highest paid athlete in the world. I’ll be there. I’d be surprised if I didn’t do it. I have no doubt, really,” Topuria said
