Ilia Topuria (17-1) has been handed 180-day medical suspensions following UFC Freedom 250.
Topuria, who suffered a broken orbital bone and several facial lacerations in his corner stoppage loss to Gaethje, faces a mandatory minimum of 60 days. That could go up to a 180-day suspension, subject to clearance from an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. The suspension effectively rules the former lightweight champion out for the remainder of 2026.
Topuria has called for an immediate rematch with Gaethje to reclaim the lightweight title, but with Arman Tsarukyan widely expected to be next in line, a Topuria comeback fight is unlikely to materialize until 2027 at the earliest.
