Triple C Abdicates Flyweight Throne
Henry Cejudo has made his intentions known as the former double champion is now focusing solely on the UFC bantamweight title.
On Friday, Cejudo relinquished his flyweight title back to the UFC and now the Endeavor owned organization is locking in a title fight between Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Norfolk on February 29th.
First reported by BJPenn.com, Cejudo will retain his bantamweight title a week after claiming he’d retire from MMA if he does not get a suitable salary in his next contract with the UFC.
Cejudo won the flyweight title from Demetrious Johnson in 2018 and won the vacant bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes at UFC 238 earlier this year after former champion T.J. Dillashaw was stripped of the title after testing positive for EPO for a flyweight title fight with Cejudo last January.
