It seems Donald Trump, who previously stated his favorite MMA fighter was the former unbeaten UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, has a new favorite fighter and that fighter is….unbeaten UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit (9-0).
Following his unanimous decision victory against Curtis Blaydes last month, Hokit revealed UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard told him that he was the President’s new favorite. Perhaps this is why he was offered a spot on the UFC White House card against Derrick Lewis immediately following his win, as Dana did say that while in attendance at UFC 327 in Miami last month, Trump asked why Lewis wasn’t on the card, prompting Dana to call Lewis on the spot. Now it seems we know why Lewis’ opponent on June 14 will be Josh Hokit.
“When I was going to the ambulance after the fight, Mick comes up to me and says, ‘You are now Donald Trump’s new favorite fighter,” Hokit said
