Tsarukyan Reveals UFC Return Timeline & Hints At Opponent

UFC number-two-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan (23-3) revealed his plans for a summer return, while teasing a drop to featherweight to challenge the champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Arman is coming off a victory against Urijah Faber at a wrestling event in Philadelphia last weekend, which has kept him active after being frozen out of a UFC title shot at lightweight against the champion Ilia Topuria who faces Justin Gaethje on June 14 at the White House event. Arman’s last UFC fight was a win over Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last November. Volkanovski, coming off a successful title defense against Diego Lopes in February, has welcomed a fight with Arman. Despite never competing at featherweight in the UFC, Tsarukyan insists he can make the 145-pound limit.

“I’ll fight roughly around June. They’re still deciding who I’ll fight. It’s even possible that I drop down to 66 kg [145 lb] to fight the title. I’d prefer to stay in my weight class at 70 kg [155 lb],” Tsarukyan continued. “But if they offer me a title fight at 66 [145], then why not,” Arman said
