Tsarukyan vs Oliveira Rematch Reportedly Set

The UFC is reportedly booking number 2-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan and number 3-ranked Charles Oliveira in a rematch to headline UFC 331 on September 19 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

It will be Tsarukyan’s first MMA bout since November 2025, when he submitted Dan Hooker with an arm-triangle choke in Qatar, which earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

In the nine months since, Tsarukyan built a 7-1 wrestling record with the Real American Freestyle promotion, beating former UFC stars Urijah Faber and Tony Ferguson along the way, before suffering his lone defeat to Colby Covington last month.

Tsarukyan edged out Oliveira in their first fight at UFC 300 in April 2024 winning a razor-thin split decision. Since that night, Oliveira has been a lot more active in MMA than Tsarukyan, beating Michael Chandler, losing by knockout to Ilia Topuria, but rebounding with back-to-back wins over Mateusz Gamrot (face crank submission) and Max Holloway (decision) to win the BMF belt.

Although Oliveira is the BMF champ, rumors have it that he will not be defending the title in the September 19th contest. However, the winner will likely be next in line to challenge Justin Gaethje for the UFC lightweight championship when he returns to competition following the 180-day medal suspension he received in his brutal battle vs Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250, where he won the belt after Topuria quit on the stool ahead of the fifth round.
