Tszyu Eyes Charlo Fight

Following his victory over Denis Nurja, Tim Tszyu (26-3, 18 KOs) says that Jermell Charlo remains his ultimate target at 154 pounds, regardless of the American’s inactivity. 

Tszyu argued that Charlo never truly “lost” his title in the ring at super-welterweight, as he was stripped of his undisputed status once he moved up to face Canelo Alvarez at 168, losing the fight via a unanimous decision in 2023. Tszyu is currently being linked with a summer showdown with Errol Spence Jr. (28-1, 22 KOs). Despite Charlo not competing at 154 lbs since 2022, Tszyu views a win over “Iron Man” as the toughest feat in the division.

“Charlo for sure. I think just because he’s never lost to get the title back. To a certain extent, he’s still the king of the 154 division in my eyes. He sort of went on his honeymoon, say, and he sort of gave up the division. He never really forfeited from it, so I feel like Charlo would be definitely on the bucket list,” Tszyu said
