‘TUF 31’ returned for another episode, as Kurt Holobaugh overcame Jason Knight via a second-round TKO to reach the finals in the lightweight division.
In a bout that featured two of team Michael Chandler’s fighters, the latter remained neutral on the sidelines. From the first round, Holobaugh’s striking was far more precise as he timed Knight on numerous occasions.
Holobaugh’s right hand continued to land on the chin of Knight as the combinations kept the latter on the backfoot. Although Knight did hit back with some combinations, Holobaugh edged out the exchanges to take the first round.
In the following round, Holobaugh continued to let his hands go as he kept Knight on the cage. And in doing so, Holobaugh struck with a lethal uppercut to the body that sent Kight to the canvas.
Thereafter, Holobaugh pounced as the referee stopped the bout. Outside of the fight, Conor McGregor and Chandler also squared off in a challenge between the coaches.
The exchange included trivia questions about the UFC, as well as undergoing an ice bath. McGregor squeezed out a victory in a series where he has largely come second best.
