Turki Alalshikh Confirms Beterbiev-Bivol For June 1

Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol will face off on June 1 in Saudi Arabia for the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship.

Alalshikh’s announcement makes it the second undisputed fight of the year, following the announcement of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk’s Undisputed Heavyweight Championship bout. The Beterbiev-Bivol fight will be part of a five vs five card made up of Matchroom and Queensberry’s best fighters facing each other.

Beterbiev is the current WBC, IBF, and WBO champion. He defended the belts, stopping Callum Smith in the seventh round during his last bout. Bivol holds the WBA belt, which he defended successfully for the 11th time, beating Lyndon Arthur via a unanimous decision. Both boxers are undefeated, meaning one fighter will come up short. A win for either makes them the best light heavyweight of their era, with potential cruiserweight or super middleweight fights for the victor.
