Turki Alalshikh Still Wants Joshua Vs. Wilder

Turki Alalshikh wants to see Deontay Wilder bounce back with a view to fighting Anthony Joshua.

Joshua vs Wilder was all set after the pair had signed a two-fight deal. This was provided they won their fights. Joshua beat Otto Wallin, but Wilder failed to overcome Joseph Parker. The fight never got made as Joshua vs Francis Ngannou was announced. The loss has left Wilder with some serious thinking to do. The 38-year-old is no closer to a world title, but Turki Alalshikh wanted to see the Bronze Bomber bounce back.

“We don’t want to waste time. Tyson Fury is 35 now, Anthony Joshua is 34, Oleksandr Usyk is 37, Deontay Wilder is 38, Artur Beterbiev is 39 next week. We are losing time. The people need to see Fury versus Joshua, Joshua versus Wilder – I mean, I hope Wilder comes back. The fight between Joshua and Wilder [was signed]. But you see the result [Parker beating Wilder] and the body of condition of Wilder now, so it would not be reasonable to have that fight now. We want him to come back,” Turki Alalshikh said

That all depends on Wilder. The American needs some big wins, but finding him an opponent will be tricky. Zhilei Zhang and Parker are tied up as they face each other on the Joshua-Ngannou card. Joe Joyce also faces Kash Ali in March, leaving the American short of big-name opponents. But if Wilder desires the Joshua fight, he must rack up some big wins soon.
