Ahead of Amir Khan’s first fight in two years against Phil Lo Greco, Eddie Hearn shared a photo of Khan preparing for his return. And while Khan is dead set on becoming a title contender again, it seems those on Twitter aren’t so sure.
“Sorry Eddie, won’t be paying to watch Amir ever again,” read one comment.
Another wrote: “The lad comes across as a decent bloke but he’s a terrible boxer, sadly he can’t hack it on fight night.
And a third said: “Nobody cares about Amir Khan, he’s all washed up and looking for easy paycheques now.”
If Khan wants to get back to the top and have a potential fight with fellow Britton, Kell Brook, he will have to shut out the noise and focus on Lo Greco.
This may be an issue for Khan, who in the summer of 2017 erupted on Twitter claiming that his wife was cheating on him with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Khan also nearly started a brawl with Lo Greco at the press conference for their April 21st fight. Either way Brook wants a shot at Khan, even if getting him to sign may be a challenge
“Forget about the weight, I want Khan, I think it would be harder to get him signed than a world title fight,” Brook said.
