Two Fighters Suspended Six Months After UFC Belem

Following a devastating loss to Valentina Shevchenko on Saturday, Priscila Cachoeira may be out of action till 2019.

Not only did Cachoeira receive an 180 day suspension following her TKO loss in Belem, Brazil, but she will also need to undergo knee surgery which can leave her on the shelf for the rest of the year.

In information released by MMA Fighting via the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission on Monday, Cachoeira is one of two fighters with a six month medical suspension. Joining her will be Tim Johnson who would walk out the winner against Marcelo Golm on the main card.

Johnson told MMA Fighting that he plans to come back sooner than six months. If he is medically cleared he’s hoping to be the backup fighter for UFC 222’s heavyweight battle between Stefan Struve and Andrei Arlovski.
