Two Major Bellator Title Fights Have Dates Set

There are two big Bellator championship fights on the horizon.

Bellator has been making waves in short order. From the news of a historic event on October 10 in Paris to the transition from Paramount Network to the CBS Sports Network, Bellator is ensuring its spot in the headlines.

The hits keep on coming as we now know a little more about two key title fights. Earlier in the week, Amy Kaplan reported that Cris Cyborg is due to put her Women’s Featherweight Championship on the line against Arlene Blencowe sometime in 2020. Speaking to reporters during a press conference, Bellator President Scott Coker revealed Cyborg vs. Blencowe will take place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on October 15.

In addition, Coker also revealed the date for Gegard Mousasi vs. Douglas Lima. Mousasi will meet Welterweight Champion Lima for the vacant Middleweight Title on October 29. That title fight will also take place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Cyborg made her Bellator debut a successful one back on January 25. She stopped Julia Budd via fourth-round TKO to capture the Women’s Featherweight Title. Blencowe is riding a three-fight winning streak.

Mousasi is fresh off a split decision victory over Lyoto Machida in their rematch. Lima’s last outing was a unanimous decision win over Rory MacDonald in their rematch, regaining the 170-pound gold and winning the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix in the process.
