Two Rising Lightweight Prospects To Meet At UFC Fight Night In February
Two of the most promising fighters of the lightweight division, Joe Alvarez and Arman Tsarukyan, will find out who deserves to be inside the top 10 rankings.
Alvarez (19-2) will meet Tsarukyan (17-2) will share the octagon at a UFC Fight Night event on February 26.
Alvarez just won his last appearance against Thiago Moises via TKO in the very first round.
He had a hard debut in the UFC against Damir Ismagulov and suffered a unanimous decision loss. But he earned four victories in row via TKO and two via submissions after that loss.
He defeated Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Joseph Duffy in the first round via submission guillotine choke.
He is 191 centimeters tall, and his reach is 196. The lightweight division is more than just a massive reach advantage. Out of 19, he earned three TKOs and 16 submission victories.
Just like his rival, Tsarukyan had a tough debut against Islam Makhachev. But, after that, he earned four dominant victories in a row.
Three of those victories were via unanimous decision, but he wanted to make a statement in the last fight, and he did it by serving a knockout to Christos Giagos in the first round.
The card is not finalized yet, but the headliner will reportedly be between Beneil Dariush and Makhachev.
