Two Title Fights Set For Glory 55 At MSG
Two big titles will highlight GLORY’s return to The Big Apple.
It was announced that GLORY 55 will take place at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 20. The first two matches announced for the event are a featherweight and middleweight world title fight.
In the first world title fight, undisputed featherweight champion Robin van Roosmalen will defend his title against Thai fighter Petchpanomrung
In the other world title fight, GLORY middleweight champion Alex Pereira will fight Yousri Belgaroui for the third time since the start of 2017, second time with the world title on the line. Belgaroui had won the first encounter via unanimous decision on April 2017 at the GLORY middleweight contender tournament final. In the rematch, Pereira got a TKO win via doctor’s stoppage in Pereira’s first title defense, setting up the rubber match for the July event.
Additional bouts for GLORY 55 New York, as well as GLORY 55 SuperFight Series and the GLORY 55 prelims, will be announced in the coming weeks.
