Tyson Fury: I Think McGregor KOs Mayweather

In two months UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will attempt to do the impossible and defeat Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring. While most boxers and media members in the boxing world give McGregor no chance, there is one former champion who has a bold prediction for the fight.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury was asked for his opinion on Mayweather’s return to the ring and who will win this clash between two of combat sports’ biggest PPV draws, and he believes McGregor will win quickly.

“I think Conor McGregor will knock him out in the first 35 seconds, like he did to Jose Aldo,” Fury said.

“I think McGregor will do him inside one round. C’mon McGregor!”

“It’ll be good for boxing if McGregor chinned him,” Fury added. I think it would be great for the real people of the world.”

Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) has been inactive since his decision win over Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, which ended Wlad’s long reign atop the heavyweight division. An immediate rematch was booked, but both attempts to book it in 2016 fell through. Fury withdrew from the July date, citing an ankle injury, and then he was deemed “medically unfit” to compete when it was rescheduled in October. He is currently not licensed to box and is awaiting a hearing from UK Anti-Doping, who said that he tested positive for nandrolone. Fury also lost his WBA and WBO world titles after he popped for cocaine in a VADA drug test.
