Tyson Fury Lashes Out At Anthony Joshua & Eddie Hearn

Tyson Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) posted a no-holds-barred sequence of videos taking aim at British rival Anthony Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) and the heavyweight’s long-time promoter Eddie Hearn over their demands as organizers work toward staging their November fight in New York City.

Earlier this week, Hearn issued new demands for the Joshua-Fury fight to take place in New York, including a request that Sela, which helped organize Joshua’s last fight, pay Joshua remaining money owed to him from his second-round win over Kristian Prenga. Hearn also wants other prominent Matchroom fighters on the card and has demanded no involvement from Zuffa Boxing.

Responding on Friday, Fury said if Zuffa co-founder Dana White wanted to be involved, he would be welcome in his team as a representative, manager or cornerman. He branded Hearn’s recent comments “disgusting” because of what he viewed as their “money-thirsty” motivations.

“It doesn’t look like they’re going to sign the fight and it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. All because Eddie Hearn and that want more money. They’ve already had that much money out … the last few years. They’ve had boxing deals, darts deals, they’ve had snooker deals [from Sela]. They’ve had everything. And yet they’ve got the audacity and cheek of flea-bitten rats to ask for more money.”

Madison Square Garden has emerged as the likely venue for the proposed November fight, with Netflix expected to broadcast the event. A stumbling block is that Joshua’s existing agreement calls for the fight to take place in the UK, meaning new terms must be agreed before his side signs off on moving the event to New York.
