Tyson Fury Responds To UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou

Tyson Fury has responded to Francis Ngannou’s calls for a boxing showdown.

Ngannou is the newly-minted UFC Heavyweight Champion. He captured the gold in the main event of UFC 260, knocking out Stipe Miocic in their rematch. This is Ngannou’s first run as a UFC titleholder.

After his win over Miocic, Ngannou told TMZ Sports that he’s willing to share the ring with WBC Champion Fury under boxing rules.

“Absolutely. I’m open to that. Remember boxing was my primary dream and I still have the fire, the dream inside me and I believe at some point, I’m gonna take a step.

“I don’t want to fight Mike Tyson but I would like to fight another heavyweight boxer as such as Tyson Fury.”

Fury caught wind of Ngannou’s challenge and had the following to say on Twitter.

“Mike Tyson, after I smash Anthony Joshua I’ll roast that guy also. Francis Ngannou, easy work.”

Ngannou was quick to fire back, reminding Fury of his grueling outing against Otto Wallin before the Deontay Wilder rematch.

“If this guy did this to you, what do you think I would do?”

As it stands now, Fury is likely to take on Anthony Joshua sometime this year. As for Ngannou, he’s expected to fight either Jon Jones or Derrick Lewis next.
