Tyson Fury Stops Deontay Wilder To Capture WBC Heavyweight Belt – February 22, 2020 (This Day In Boxing History)

This was the rematch everyone was waiting for.

After an exhilarating first fight, which ended in a split draw, boxing fans needed to see who was the better boxer between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder was, and in the second meeting, they got it.

Wilder lost his WBC heavyweight title belt by TKO at 1:39 in Round 7.

In the third round, Wilder went down from a right cross and then again in the fifth from a left hook to the body.

Wilder had developed noticeable swelling and was bleeding from his left ear, nose and mouth.

In the seventh round, Wilder got trapped in the corner, forcing his corner to throw the towel, waving off the fight.

Despite Wilder losing in the second and third fights against Fury, he is still considered one of the top active heavyweights.
